WWE 24/7 Legends Roundtable - Heatseekers Recap - July 2, 2007

If you have any access to WWE 24/7, I cannot encourage you enough to watch the Legends Of Wrestling roundtable called Heat Seekers. Jim Ross, Michael Hayes, Mick Foley, Jerry Lawler, and Eric Bischoff all discuss the biggest behind the scenes talent that gets the most heat for their antics. This is a must see!!! They tell all kinds of stories and you really get a feeling of who they like and don't like except that Foley won't rip on anyone which begins the joke of "he likes everybody". Each of them was allowed to bring up who they thought drew the most heat backstage for stuff. Who was brought up? First, Lex Luger. The reason brought up was that they seem to feel that he didn't respect the business and who built it up. They comment saying that he wasn't a wrestling fan when he got there and knew nothing about it. Bischoff comments about how he would see Luger around backstage back when Bischoff was a "third string" announcer for WCW and he'd see Luger just not treat people very well. He said that Luger wasn't mean but that he didn't go out of his way to help people. Bischoff talks about Luger coming back to WCW in 1995 and how Sting pushed for him to be brought back. Bischoff didn't want to bring him in cause he knew how Luger could be a problem. He basically told Luger that he could come in but that he wasn't going to put up with any drama. He said that he paid Luger a lot less than what he had made in his previous WCW run cause he was going to make Luger earn his respect. Foley put over that he thought Luger had good matches with Flair and Steamboat in 1989 saying that he could have good matches. Bischoff also put over Luger's matches with Ron Simmons as being very good as well. Another wrestler mentioned was Goldberg. They say with Goldberg that he had a lot of people in his ear and he was an easy guy to make paranoid about his place in wrestling. They say he is a GREAT guy away from the business. When he is in wrestling, he isn't and Bischoff talks about how he hated working with him behind the scenes cause of it. Jerry Lawler joked about seeing him lately and that Goldberg came up and gave him a hug greeting him. When walking away, Lawler said that Goldberg said "hey tell..........ah, don't tell anyone hi for me." Funny stuff. They all agree that he is such a competitive guy and easily influenced and that it was why he was so bad to deal with behind the scenes. They love him as a person being away from the business putting over how nice a guy he is and what all kinds of stuff he does for kids and charities. Vince Russo is brought up for a moment. They mentioned the Oklahoma character which was the spoof of JR. JR said that he was more mad that his kids had to watch that. When asked about which was worse, Oklahoma or Mr. Heine, he said Oklahoma. They all agreed that Russo did that as a personal shot where as McMahon does stuff thinking it will entertain. They also put over that McMahon isn't afraid to embarrass himself either. They all said that McMahon does stuff thinking it will entertain and that Russo did things as personal attacks. Michael Hayes gets on Bischoff's case at one point about the nWo spoofed Arn Anderson retirement speech. You really got the feeling that Hayes is still furious over it. Bischoff said that he has no way to defend it and said that he feels it is on the level of the attack with the Oklahoma character. He said that it is something that he regrets to this day in doing and that he does think that it very well could have been a personal attack on Arn at the time. Bischoff really does seem to feel awful about doing it. Scott Hall's name is brought up and they all have Hall stories to tell. Bischoff tells about bringing him in in 1996 and how he had heard a lot of the trouble that he and Nash were causing backstage in WWF. He was pushed to bring him in and he said that business was up in WCW from what it had been and didn't know if bringing in Hall was going to be worth it. He basically told Hall that I'll bring you in but I'm not going to put up with all these things that he'd heard about Hall causing in WWF. They all put over Hall as a great business mind when he wanted to be. They all agreed that when he had his own agenda or wasn't on the same page as everyone else, he was bad trouble and that he would purposely stir things up backstage. There are others stars discussed as well.

They absolutely need a part two of that show and hope they do one in the future cause they really just ran out of time. The show runs one hour and six minutes long. The next roundtable show? The discussion on The Monday Night Wars. That will be must see as well!! This roundtable series is absolutely the must see show of WWE 24/7. You won't regret checking those shows out. Watch that Heat Seekers show. You won't regret it!!
