WWE Judgment Day 2002 - Live Report From Nashville - May 19, 2002

Nashville of course hosted Judgment Day. The arena was packed and sold out. We had awesome seats is all I can say. I was very happy. This PPV was definitely the best series of matches I've ever seen live. Just about all the matches were good. It was a hot crowd. One of the best crowds I've ever been in. Definitely the loudest I've heard in Nashville. It was great to get the Heat match to warm up the crowd. The pop that D-Lo got was amazing. The crowd went crazy. Regal got the opposite response. ha ha. Good match between the two. The PPV lineup was very strong. RVD vs. Guerrero was a great match to start with. What a pop RVD got. They put on an awesome match. It was great to see RVD live for the first time and the crowd was huge into it. The amount of camera flashes that went off as he went for the 5 Star was unbelievable. I liked the Hardys/Lesnar match. I say that because the Hardys are a lot of fun to watch live. Trish and Stacy was a good match. It was really odd to see the Dudleys go at it. Very happy with Edge and Angle. What a match!! Austin vs. Flair and Big Show was a lot better than I thought. One thing that has been talked about a lot from the people that saw it on TV was the what/wooo combinations. This is of course the Flair/Austin chop exchanges with those being said on every one. It came across on TV big and people have been cracking up. This was a fun match to watch live. Definitely one of my favorites of the night. My low light of the night is no surprise. Billy and Chuck vs. Rikishi and Rico. What??? The crowd was silent during this match and people were going to the concessions stands, bathrooms, etc. Then, it was mixed emotions at the ending. Billy and Chuck lose the tag titles which I like but to Rikishi and Rico?? My disappointment is that that all the teams that have lost to them, this is the one team that beats them. Would have loved for it to be the Hardys. The cell was amazing to see live. It was such an awesome scene to see that cage lowering around the ring. The heat off of Jericho's pyro is amazing. The feeling of seeing Triple H again was flat out awesome. I was so pumped up waiting for his music to hit. His entrance is so awesome live. First time I've seen him enter to the Motorhead music. The crowd was a lot quieter during this one and it's because the crowd was flat out nervous. I know we all were thinking what's gonna happen and please no one get hurt. This was a brutal match. B-R-UTAL. Triple H and Jericho pulled out all the stops. Referee Tim White took an awful shot in this one flying into the cage. He actually had to be taken to the hospital afterwards as he separated his shoulder. It looked awful live. This got both guys on top of the cage which had me big time nervous. I'm always worried that the roof will give way. Triple H ended it big with a pedigree on top. Then, came the main event. Hogan vs. Undertaker. First off, I'd like to say that I'm not a fan of Undertaker's new music that debuted there. Not exactly exciting. Seeing Hogan live was amazing. I thought it was a good match but of course I didn't like the ending. I had that same feeling as I did when I was little as Hogan would lose. Just looking speechless and stunned. Not a happy camper. The night ended awesome though as we got a posedown from Hogan. It lasted for about 5 minutes. I've been waiting 15 years for that moment. ha ha. I'll never forget that moment. I have to say that we had a hilarious group near us. The best was when they used every one of JR's catchphrases in about 30 seconds. FUNNY!! Biggest pops of the night go to Hogan, Triple H, RVD, Austin, Edge, and D-Lo. Biggest heat goes to McMahon as he came down during the main event, Angle, X-Pac, Regal, and then Undertaker kicking out of the legdrop (that should never happen!!! ha ha)
