Macho Madness DVD Preview - June 8, 2009

The WWE Macho Man Randy Savage DVD set hits stores tomorrow. I have mine ordered and will be reviewing it in the future. Savage is in my top three favorite wrestlers of all time so I have to have this set. Even now, he is still one of my favorites to watch in the ring. There will be no biography story on the DVD as it is just a collection of matches and moments. The DVD is hosted by Matt Striker and Maria. Nothing new of Savage for this DVD as the ties between Savage and WWE continue to be troubled. The match lineup for this set is tremendous. What I like is that there is the common matches from his career that have been on multiple various DVD releases over the years but there are other great matches included as well that are more rare. A different Savage/Steamboat match while also including WM3. The cage match between Savage and Dibiase during Savage’s 1988 title run. I remember at the time seeing that Savage and Dibiase match on the Macho Madness home video release and how good it was. A different Hogan/Savage match from the mid 80’s. Mix and matching. The classic matches that we all love are there and the moments too. I think this set will be great. Other segments and extras include Savage naming Elizabeth as his manager in 1985, Elizabeth’s debut from Championship Wrestling, the Macho King’s coronation (Can’t remember the last time that I saw that but remember it clear as day from Saturday morning wrestling!!!!), the Savage/Elizabeth wedding from SummerSlam 1991, and also lots of interview segments from various shows over the years. I am really looking forward to watching this set probably more than any set in a long time. I’ve seen most of this stuff but there is some stuff that I haven’t seen and some that I haven’t seen in a while. I’ll review this set when I get it watched.
